Cleanliness is Next to Dogliness: The Importance of Keeping Your Canine Clean.

Giving your dog a bath right after a muddy or wet walk can help your dog’s health by cleaning away potentially harmful stuff in the mud and rainwater runoff that could cause skin infections, hot spots, or other health issues. A bath can help soothe skin irritations and reduce the itching and discomfort that can happen when these materials dry on your dog’s skin.

This time of the year can be challenging for us dog owners.

You know your pup needs exercise but the new Netflix show everyone’s talking about just came online a couple of days ago. And it’s raining. Again. And cold. And… well, you just don’t wanna!

But as a Fawn & Moose Pack Member, you know better. And you take Rover out anyway. You bundle up, grab an umbrella, slip on your rubber boots and grab a coffee to go. And you’re out there. He’s happy and running around without a care in the world. And you get over the couch lock and start enjoying the outdoors again.

It’s not so bad once you get out there right?

But then Rover comes running out of the wet and muddy bushes. “It’s not that bad,” you tell yourself. “He’ll be dry by the time we’re home. He can wait a few days for a bath.”

Yes. He probably can, but sooner is definitely better.

It also helps them smell better. (Wet dog smell? No thanks.) and it’s a nice, bonding time for you and your dog too.

Boojee™ Shampoo Bars

We realize that washing your dog a lot can also present other problems. Like skin drying out or allergic reactions to the chemicals, preservatives etc., that are in typical shampoo products. Not so good.

Shortly after launching Fawn & Moose, we came across some soap and shampoo recipes that we thought would allow us to make a better alternative to typical pet shampoos. And our Boojee™ Shampoo Bars were born. We’re really proud of this stuff, and some Pack Members swear by the stuff.

We make Boojee Bars™ with a goat’s milk soap base, then add shea butter, coconut oil, oatmeal and cedar, orange and bergamot essential oils. It’s gentle, smells nice, and is the sort of thing you might expect from a high-end beauty bar. Like, for a woman’s face, But it’s for your dog’s bits — not yours.

Though I’m sure there’s no reason you couldn’t use it as your shampoo too. Go for it!

The goat’s milk base, shea butter and coconut oil are all known for their soothing and moisturizing abilities and can even help soothe minor irritations. Oatmeal, likewise, is known for soothing skin (try bathing in an oatmeal bath next time you get a rash, and you’ll see). Add our collection of essential oils, which have also been chosen for their various anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, insecticidal and soothing effects, and you’ve got quite a soap/shampoo!

We could go on and on. But we probably shouldn’t say more without lab testing and some government bureaucrats giving us the nod of approval.Suffice it to say, the stuff is great. And you oughta’ have some for your dog.

Mic drop. Pitch over.

Just try it ok?
